The Mighty Baptizer – Perhaps the most important thing that needs to be said is that this baptizing is an activity of Jesus for which we should honor him. John the Baptist introduces Jesus with these words so we would praise Jesus as the Mighty Baptizer and recognize how far superior he is to John (and to us)

Broken Vows, Broken World – Of course, it wasn’t that I wanted my former wife to commit adultery or that I was overjoyed to watch her walk out on me. It wasn’t that I was glad to see my marriage end, either.

No Substitute for Jesus – Much of our prolonged heartaches and headaches in life are because we are expecting someone or something other than Jesus to be ever only amazing for us.  And what God calls us to do is to repent of our idols and come back to the real thing—Jesus.
