How great is it to know that we have a loving Father in heaven, who loves us and protects us from ever getting lost. A Father who promises to save us and guide us, even through the most difficult of times. He is The Lord Almighty, the Rock of Ages, and the God of Israel. Nothing is impossible for God. Which is why we, believers in Christ, must believe God at His Word. Especially in the difficult times when we feel alone, and lost. We must come to grips with the fact that the good shepherd will come looking for His sheep.
Isaiah 49:14-16 But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me,
And my Lord has forgotten me.” ” Can a woman forget her nursing child,And not have compassion on the son of her womb?Surely they may forget,Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;Your walls are continually before Me.
In these verses God asks the question ” Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb?” He asks this question in response to a bitter statement expressed by His people,Israel, during a hard time. In your life have you ever been in a situation that caused you to doubt God’s good plan for your life, or His existence all together? In this verse God gives us an answer to those questions, and doubts. He firstly asks His people a question they can directly relate to. A woman not forgetting her nursing child. Then He reassures us all the more by saying “Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you”. We are prone to neglect one another, and we are imperfect, but He is perfect, and He will not neglect or forget about us. God has us tattooed, etched, scared, on His palms, which are a foreshadowing of the nails on His wrists. Our broken selves(walls) are continually before Him. He is always looking after us.
God cannot forget His children. Two reasons this is so, one is because He is perfect, and two is because His love is everlasting. The faster we can come to the understanding of that, the better the local churches will be in the United States of America. We don’t have a father that will leave us and just go about his business. We have an Almighty Father who will hold us by the hand and bring us to where He has fore-ordained us. Verses like this I encourage for you to get familiar with. They’ll be of great help in times of trouble.
